Choose Wisely

Nintendo and the Pokémon Company have revealed the release dates, starters, and first legitimate trailers for Pokémon Sun and Moon. The game comes out November 18 in Japan, the US, and Australia. Europe has to wait a few days until November 23.

It warms my heart to see that, even 20 years after the release of the original Game Boy games, Pokémon can evoke such enthusiasm. The starters you see above (Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio, respectively) have caused quite a stir since their debuts in the first trailer. I’m having a tough time picking who I’ll take as my starter. It’s hard for me to argue against a leaf bow tie, though.

If you’re not sure which Poké-pal to take with you on your journey across the Alola region, you might want to get crackin’. You’ve got a measly six months to make your choice. And you also have to choose whether to invest in Sun, with its lion-like Legendary, or Moon and its alien vampire bat cover ‘mon. These will probably be the toughest decisions you’ll have to make this November.

If you haven’t seen the trailer, do yourself a favor and check out the heartwarming Japanese version, which is infinitely superior to the generic US one.
